Chocolate Covered Strawberry Protein Pancakes

Is there anything more romantic than chocolate covered strawberries? Who says you need a significant other to shower yourself in L-O-V-E? Treat yourself every day with these chocolate covered strawberry protein pancakes. You deserve it, babe!

Time: 15 minutes

Serves: 4-6


  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1-2 scoops protein powder, any kind you prefer (vanilla, strawberry, or chocolate flavors preferred. I used 25g of vanilla whey protein powder)
  • 1-1 1/2 cups milk (any kind you prefer)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup Strawberries (fresh, frozen, or freeze-dried)
  • ¼ cup chocolate chips


  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, salt, and protein powder together
  • In a small bowl, combine the milk, vanilla, and eggs together
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, and mix well. You can fold in the strawberries and chocolate chips to the batter after, or wait until the next step to do so
  • Pour about 1/4 cup batter on a hot, greased griddle, and let cook until bubbles begin to form on the open surface (You can add the strawberries and chocolate after pouring the batter). Flip onto the other side and cook until both sides are golden brown
  • Serve with your favorite toppings, or let cool, store in food storage containers, cover, and refrigerate/freeze

 Recipe Modifications:

  • Gluten-free: Use gluten-free flour instead of whole wheat flour
  • Nut-free: None
  • Vegetarian: None
  • Vegan: Use chia or flax eggs instead of eggs. To make 1 flax/chia egg: combine 1 Tbsp ground flax seeds or chia seeds with 1 Tbsp water. Also, use a plant-based protein powder like pea or soy

Recipe Notes:

  • To make the batter thicker, use less milk. To make the batter thinner, use more milk.
